Volunteer Your Time

Volunteering for our agency gives you the opportunity to make a difference and meet new people, a chance to use skills you have developed over your lifetime, and satisfaction and fulfillment in helping others.

Last year, volunteers gave well over 15,000 hours of their time to people in need in Placer County. Without help from people like you, we would not be able to provide a safe, caring environment for families in crisis.

Volunteer Opportunities include:

Auburn Office

• Facilitate Domestic Violence Drop In Group (training required)
• Provide crisis intervention for walk-in clients (training required)
• Provide crisis intervention on the PEACE for Families Crisis Line (training required)
• Provide general office support
• Provide community education presentations (training required)
• Participate in fund-raising events

Roseville Office

• Facilitate Domestic Violence Drop In Group (training required)
• Provide crisis intervention for walk-in clients (training required)
• Provide crisis intervention on the PEACE for Families Crisis Line (training required)
• Provide general office support
• Provide community education presentations (training required)
• Participate in fund-raising events

Safe House

• Provide temporary coverage for Safe House staff during meetings
• Provide crisis intervention on the PEACE for Families Crisis Line
• Provide child care during classes, therapy sessions, appointments and other activities
• Help children with homework
• Help with general maintenance and landscaping

Note: All Safe House positions require training

Therapy

• Provide child care during counseling sessions

Legal

• Assist the Legal Services Coordinator with completing temporary restraining orders
• Attend restraining order court hearings and assist with paperwork
• Accompany clients as a representative of PEACE for Families at arraignments, trials, or other hearings
